Randy "Chandler" Johnson, 54, of Loves Park, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at SwedishAmerican Hospital. Born on January 26, 1964, in Rockford, the son of Ross and Gail (Nelson) Johnson. He was a graduate of Harlem High School and received his Bachelor's Degree from University of Illinois. Randy worked for Sjostrom Construction and Norwest Construction. He owned APEX Environmental Testing. Randy was a "life time member" of the Ski Broncs.
Survived by his parents, Ross and Gail Johnson; brother, Mark (Patti) Johnson of Dripping Springs, TX; girlfriend, Tammy Pringle; aunts, Lynne Johnson and Caroline (Don) Swanson; nieces, Caitlin (Lance) Roe and Rebekah Johnson; and great nephew, Kaden Roe. Predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave., Rockford, with Reverend Dan Herman of Old Stone Church in Rockton officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. prior to the service in the chapel. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family.

    We would like to express our sorrow and condolences to the family and loved ones. Randy was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who asked. He designed our deck and didn't even lose his cool when the prints blew away in the middle of the build. We had many good times playing volleyball and lots of laughs afterwards. He will forever be in our memories.

    My husband & I have known Chandler for about 20 years. He was a kind soul and a good friend. He was always ready to help out a friend in need anyway he could. He tried to take care of everyone one way or another. It's was always nice to see him and share a story or two. It's going to be very sad not to see him again in our daily lives.
