Print Obituary & Condolences

On February 7, 2018, Michael Andrew Bennett, 60, friend, partner, son, educator, storyteller, mentor, community leader and Founder of Bennett/Stellar University® peacefully transitioned into the light while holding hands with Sandra in Phoenix, AZ.
Michael is survived by his life partner, Sandra Vesterstein; mother, Francis "Marion" Bennett; Sandra's children, Matti Vesterstein and Jonathan King; along with his earth angel cousin, Kelly Joe Bennett Leudy; among many other cousins, aunts and uncles and close friends. Michael was greeted on the other side by his father, Ralph E. Bennett; and younger brother, Ronn Bennett; along with grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Michael was born in DeKalb, Illinois, and graduated from Sycamore High School. He worked for the Ideal and Hyster Corporation before choosing to honor his true calling as an instructor, speaker and mentor in the field of personal development. Together, he and his brother Ronn created Bennett/Stellar University® and developed Neuro-Linguistic Life Coaching® and DreamSculpting®.
For 20 years, Michael offered 10,000 hours of presentations and led thousands of seminars throughout the US and around the world making him a "master of the masters". Individuals, corporate professionals, and government employees have benefited from Bennett/Stellar University® with programs throughout the United States and in Costa Rica, Panama, Mexico, Belize, Great Britain, The Netherlands, Singapore and Turkey. An influential storyteller, gifted trainer and master practitioner Michael's spiritually based, humorous, healing and transformational reach was great. He will be remembered for making a significant contribution to the field of NLP and Hypnotherapy, being a magically effective instructor, a master of unconscious communication and for creating a fun playground for state dependent learning. Michael loved what he did and clearly lived out his gift.
Michael's love of life was infectious. His free and generous spirit, with his beautiful heart and smile, welcomed friends everywhere he went. Michael loved the Beach Boys, and more importantly loved Brian Wilson. He enjoyed harmony and believed that the sum of our differences makes the meaningful harmonies in life. Michael driving his blue Thunderbird listening to the Beach Boys will be forever etched in our memories.
Michael walked this final path as he lived his life … His way! Michael, you will be greatly missed! We know and trust and trust and know we have a very powerful angel working on the other side for us. Until we meet again!
The Viewing will be held from 9 a.m.-11 a.m., and the Celebration of Life will start at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Quiram Sycamore Chapel, 1245 Somonauk St., Sycamore, IL 60178. A lunch will be offered after the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michael Bennett Foundation. Contact Sandra Vesterstein for more details at 802-598-6078.

Words can not say how this classmate's entrance into heaven has stunned and saddened my heart. It was a blessing to see Mike at our last class of 1976 reunion. Keep everyone there smiling my friend until we are together again. Love and constant prayers for all who are touched by this amazing man. From a classmate of 1976.
