Obituary

Carol A. Dolan, 76, of Rockford, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017, at UW-Madison Hospital. She was born on December 14, 1940, in Rockford, the daughter of LeRoy and Betty (Sundstedt) Roland. Carol was a graduate of Rockford East High School, class of 1958, and attended Northern Illinois University. She worked at Sundstrand Machine Tool in Belvidere followed by Sundstrand Aviation and then retired from Amcore Financial Inc. after 18 years as an executive assistant. Carol married Benjamin K. Dolan on October 6, 1962, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. He predeceased her on February 2, 2011. She was a past member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and St. Mark Lutheran Church. Carol was a past board member of YWCA - Rockford, taught Sunday school and bible school at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. She also was a past member of Rockford Elks Club, Bel-Mar Country Club and Kappa Delta Sorority-NIU. Carol loved spending time with Ben. They had many good times golfing, traveling and having fun with their friends. She also enjoyed spending time with her children and granddaughter.
Survived by her children, Thomas Dolan (Linda Goulet) of Grand Rapids, MI., and Colleen (Tom) Scrivner of Chicago; granddaughter, Tess Scrivner; brother, Thomas (Jenny) Roland of Rockford; sister, Sally (Jim) Waldron of Wilmette, IL; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Doris Delaporte, Marna (Les) Lovett, Mary Dolan, Sally Goodwill, Carole Dolan and Joanne Dolan; and many nieces and nephews. Also predeceased by her parents and brothers-in-law William Dolan, Louis Dolan, John Goodwill and Edward Delaporte.
Memorial Services to be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2017, in Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave., Rockford, with Rev. Dean Parker officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service in the chapel. Private burial.
