Kjell O. Lusth, 87, of Rockford, passed away August 11, 2017. He was born February 19, 1930 in Oviken, Sweden, the son of Axel and Ingeborg (Magnusson) Lusth. Kjell came to the United States in 1949 settling in Minneapolis, MN before becoming a Rockford resident in 1952. He served in United Stated Army during the Korean War. Kjell married Marguerite Martin Cunningham on January 26, 1962 in Rockford. He was the owner of C and L Painting. Kjell was a member at Alpine Lutheran Church, Baltic Lodge, Vasa Lodge and the Painter Union.
He is survived by his wife, Marguerite; brothers, Karl-Erik and Robert Lusth, Sweden; and sisters Matta Lusth, Sweden, Barbro Gabrielsen, Norway, and Anna-Lisa Lund, Sweden; and numerous nieces and nephews. Kjell is predeceased by his parents; and brother, Bengt Lusth, Sweden. The family would like to thank Fiona, Mary and Jim Horn for their love and care over many years.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave., Rockford, with Pastor Dan Wynard officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Memorials can be made to Alpine Lutheran Church, 5001 Forest View Ave., Rockford, 61108.

You were so kind to us and a very sweet man. You left your mark in this world. Til we meet again.....
