Obituary

Annette F. Goike Traum, 70, of Rockford, went home to her Heavenly Father on July 27, 2017, after a courageous six and a half year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on August 16, 1946, in Robbins, TN, the daughter of Edward and Rheba (Storey) Goike. Annette married her husband of 53 years, Jackie L. Traum, on March 14, 1964. She ran an in-home daycare for 20 years where she spread her genuine love to many young children who still keep in touch today. Annette thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family, singing in the church choir, and welcoming everyone into her life with a warm hug. Annette will be dearly missed but is undoubtedly singing and dancing in the presence of the Lord.
She is lovingly survived by her husband, Jack; her three children, Edward (Ellen), Jeanette, Michael; two grandchildren, Jeremy (Elizabeth), Aaron (Jenna); great-grandson, Ezekiel; brothers, Terry (Leann) Steiner and Richard Steiner; and many nieces; and nephews. Annette is predeceased by her parents; twin sister, Jeanette; sister, Gloreda Thompson; brother, Donald Goike; two nieces, Lou Updike and Debbie Keen; a nephew, Darrin Traum; and a great-nephew, Micah Updike. Special thanks to Dr. Liotta and staff, Dr. Edwards and staff, Serenity Home Hospice staff and Wendy Slick.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 31 at Maywood EFC, 3621 Samuelson Rd, Rockford, with Pastor Gary Kniseley officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 30 at Maywood EFC and a second visitation will be held from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport.
