John Leonard Linden
Obituary


John Leonard Linden, 70, passed away Friday, June 30, 2017 at home. He was born November 2, 1946 in Sycamore, Illinois to Isabel Chapman Linden and Leonard LeRoy Linden.
John served in the Military Police in Germany while in the Army from 1966-1968. He attended Illinois State University, Kishwaukee College and Southern Illinois University. He has worked in the past for UPS, 3M Company, managed clubs and retired from the Postal Service in 2006 after having been employed for 22 years.
He is survived by his wife Linda Peterson Linden of 29 years, one brother, Randy (Susan) Linden of Carbondale, Colorado, sister-in-law Sue (Dr. H. Kenneth) Leatherman of Raleigh, North Carolina, three nieces, goddaughter Jenna Linden of Carbondale, Colorado, Kristin (Steven) Neal and children Ainsley, Colin and goddaughter Elliette of Charlotte, North Carolina, Julia (Andrew) Cocowitch and children Emery, Bennet and Landon of Durham, North Carolina and former brother-in-law Marc Hollingsworth of North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his father- and mother-in-law, Russ and Marilyn Peterson.
Visitation will be at Olson Funeral Home in Sycamore on Monday, July 3 from 4-7 p.m. A short prayer service led by Deacon Charles Ridulph will immediately follow visitation. Funeral service will be held at Salem Lutheran Church in Sycamore at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 5 with burial at Elmwood Cemetery immediately following.
Memorials can be made to Salem Lutheran's Food Pantry or to the charity of your choice.
