Johanna Joy Cross, 63, of Rockford, IL Passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, in her home. She was born September 16, 1953, in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Eugene A. and Johanna J (Smits) Johnson. She attended Guilford High School. After graduation she enlisted in the United States Air Force as an aircraft mechanic. While enlisted, she met and married Mark S. Clark and they had 2 children. She later met and married Clyde E. Cross who passed away in January 2010. She was predeceased by her parents. Johanna enjoyed spending time with her family, baking, knitting, drinking sweet teas, watching various tv shows involving crime and mystery. She enjoyed reading; her favorite poet was Edgar Allen Poe. Johanna loved yellow roses even though her favorite color was blue. Johanna was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and the New York Yankees.
She is survived by her daughters, Angelique (Clark) Albert of Rockford, IL, and Kimberly Cross of Albuquerque, NM ;sons, Mark Clark Jr of Snake River, OR, and John (Rebecca) Cross of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Eric West-Clark, Kaiya Albert, Karrington Albert ; great-grandchild, Zoelle West-Clark due in July; sisters, Linda (Steven) Tolodxi, Janet (Michael) Norris, Barbara (Paul) Carlsen, and Alice (Michael) Nuckles; brothers, Eugene Johnson and Richard Booth; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral visitation will be on Friday, June 9, 2017, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Ltd., Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave. Rockford. Memorials to the family to be established at a later date.
