Donald Raymond Gravlin, familiarly known as Travlin Gravlin, passed away after an extensive battle with diabetes in Rockford, IL on May 28, 2017 at the age of 85. Don is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Arthur and Josephine Amelia (Alvord) Gravlin; sisters, Joanne (Ralph) Srsen and Marilyn (Wilbur) Sherwin; brother, Jack Gravlin; first wife, Evelyn (Swanson); third wife, Marilyn (West); sons, Stuart and Gary Gravlin; and stepdaughter, Bobby West. Don will be remembered by his sister, Rosalie (Gravlin) Engelman; children, Jacqueline (Frank) Westpfahl, Carol (David) Musel, Barbara (Steve) Caldwell, Michael (Vicki) Gravlin, Bradley (Becky) Gravlin, Tracy Allen, Anna Lee, David Gravlin, Lucy, and Merry Jane; stepchildren, Sherri (Dave) Wright, Vicki West, and Steve (Julie) West; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Donald was born in Faribault, MN on September 17, 1931. A man of many talents and interests, Don was primarily known to be a Veteran of the Korean Conflict, a professional well driller for Layne Drilling Company for many years prior to becoming a professional paint contractor and working with family and friends to paint commercial, residential and religious properties. Often told "He should write a book..." Donald traveled and lived a vibrant life full of adventure that he loved to relate to all those he met. Although alone at the time of his passing, Don never felt loneliness, because he knew the Love of the Lord, the love and respect of those who got to know him, admiration of those whose life he briefly entered, and the comfort in knowing the family and friends he would be rejoining in heaven upon his passing.

Members of the family will have a private memorial in the Arizona Mountains. An all-day public potluck memorial service will be arranged to be held on or around May 27, 2018 in his birthplace of Faribault, MN at Alexander Park.
