Brian Andrew Brokish, 48, of Rockford passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in OSF St Anthony Medical Center following a sudden illness. Born July 12, 1968, in Rockford; the son of Marilyn Kraft Mathison of Beloit, Wis. and Robert E. Brokish Sr. of Huntsville, Al. He graduated from Skyview High School class of 1988. He was previously employed with Growth Enterprises. Brian was a long time resident of Stepping Stones of Rockford and resided the past nine years at Forest City Nursing Home. He was interested in comic books, always read the Rock River Times, and often listened to music with his headphone radio. He also enjoyed watching the television. His friends and family will miss his sense of humor.

Survivors include his parents, Marilyn and Robert Sr.; siblings, Robert (Patty) Brokish Jr., and Michelle (Michael) Balazsy; one niece, Claudia Brokish; three nephews, Alastair Brokish, Andrew and Alex Balazsy; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Predeceased by his step-mother, Sharon.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2017 in Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, North Main Chapel, 2811 N. Main Street. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. prior to the service in the chapel. Burial at 12 noon in Mt. Thabor Cemetery, Beloit, Wis. Luncheon will follow at the home of Marilyn Mathison. Memorials to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
