Corenne F. "Connie" Runne, 93, of Rockford died Monday, April 3, 2017, in River Bluff Nursing Home. Born October 15, 1923, in Swanville, MN, the daughter of Ole and Ellen (Norton) Eastwold. Connie graduated from Swanville High School and moved to Rockford for work with her husband Butch at the end of WWII. Connie worked in a factory and later she worked at Partyland as a sales clerk for 28 years, where she made lifelong friends. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Connie had a wonderful sense of humor and loved her Scandinavian heritage; she inherited her mom's sweet tooth, she loved animals and lit up when someone brought a dog or cat for a visit; and she loved working with flowers and grew dahlias taller than her. To Connie's family and friends she was sweet, beautiful, fun, generous, and loving. She will be dearly missed. Connie is preceded in death by her parents, Ole and Ellen Eastwold; her brothers, Roy and Melvin Eastwold; her sisters, Edna Johnson and Verneice Kirchner; her first husband, Erwin "Butch" Beseman; her second husband, Donald Runne; her son, Charles "Chuck" Runne and her nephew, William Eastwold. Despite the many losses throughout her life, Connie was always able to persevere with grace and bring joy to those around her.
The family would like to extend heartfelt condolences to Delbert Dauenbaugh who brought joy to Connie's life for many years and a special thank you to Diane and John Elliott, Donna and Jim Carlson and Carolyn Redenius for all the love, kindness, and care they gave to Connie right to the end.
Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2017, in Olson Funeral & Cremation Servcies, Ltd., Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave. with visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service in the chapel. Private burial will follow in Scandinavian Cemetery. Memorials may be given in her name to your favorite charity.
