Obituary

Mary B. Redburn, 96, of Byron, passed away on February 24, 2017. She was born on February 16, 1921 in Exline, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Maggie (Clinkenbeard) McWilliams. She was struck by a vehicle at the age of 6 and survived and thrived; she was a strong woman. Mary married Oscar W. Redburn on September 1, 1946 in Rockford. He predeceased her on July 13, 1984. She worked all her life for many different manufacturing companies. She loved quilting, crocheting, gardening, traveling, and cooking holiday meals; she loved having company. She was an avid reader; many thanks to the Byron Public Library for keeping her supplied. Mary was the best Grandma in the world
She is survived by her children, Margaret Skoumal, Samuel (Pat) Redburn, Betty (Ron) Morris, and John Redburn; grandchildren, Mark, Andrea, Samantha, James, Diane, Brian, Bridget, and Michael; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister-in-law, Lillian; and best friend, Bonnie. Predeceased by her husband; daughter-in-law, Betty Ann; brothers, Mike, Ray, and Russell; and sister, Faye.
Services will be held at 12:30 pm, Saturday, March 4, 2017 in Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Ltd., Fred C. Olson Chapel, with Rev. Jesse Tanner officiating. Visitation will be from 11:30 to 12:15 prior to the service. Burial in Byron Cemetery.
