  5. Valeri DeCastris

I am (jazz musician) Val Eddy's daughter and Dad always spoke fondly of Rod. I believe they did some business (insurance or investments if I recall) together in addition to sharing their music. I recall Dad speaking of him many times. Dad's been gone 2.5 years now and played a few tunes with Mike Alongi a month before he died when Mike showed up at Dad's assisted living home. These guys loved their music! I am sorry to hear that you lost Rod too. I am glad that I was able to meet him when I moved back to Rockford. My deepest condolences to you and the family. Sorry I can't be there on Saturday. Blessings to you all and may he rest in peace.

What can you say about a man who took the Servais family by storm and became an integral part of it in every way. We always looked forward to seeing him at family gatherings and enjoyed his stories and his big smile. He had a hug for everybody or a handshake. He truly was a member of the clan. We is sure gonna miss him sorely! Love you Rod.
