Clara L. Rader, 89, of Rockford, passed away on February 10, 2017. Clara was born on February 12, 1927 in Janesville, WI, the daughter of Alfred G. and Myrtle B. (Schmidt) Mueller. She graduated from Beloit High School in 1945. Clara married Kenneth E. Rader on November 29, 1947 in Beloit, WI. He predeceased her in January 2008. Clara was a member of Alpine Lutheran Church, North Suburban Women's Club and worked at Bergner's for 23 years, retiring in 1989. She was named volunteer of the year for Lifescape. Clara and Ken had many friends from the Lauderdale Lakes. They were also in a potluck group for fifty plus years. She had a very special friend for many years in Ruthie.
Survivors include her son, Ken (Maren) Rader; daughter, Diane (Micheal) Griffey; grandchildren, Christopher Rader (David Peek), Heather (Lee) Anderson, Kimberlee Rader, Jennifer Griffey (Kyle Hill) and Sheri Griffey; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Riley, Owen, and Avery Anderson and Finn Socias. Predeceased by parents and husband, Ken.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 15th in Alpine Lutheran Church, 5001 Forest View Ave., Rockford, with Dr. Rev. Richard Meier officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 10:45 am prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Alpine Lutheran Bell Ringers.
