Carol Marlene Camacho, 80, of Rockford, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, February 5, 2017, enveloped in the love of God and family. She was born August 13, 1936, in Rockford; the daughter of Ivan and Edna Swanson. Carol graduated from West High School. Besides being a hardworking mother at home, she also worked as a nurse in Neonatal care unit at Rockford Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed dancing and was very good at it, starting at an early age as a ballet dancer. She had a passion for Hawaii, where she resided for a few years, and talked about how beautiful it was. She loved spending time with her family and friends at her cottage on Rock Lake in Lake Mills, WI. She enjoyed boating and spending time at the beach. She enjoyed her shopping in Cambridge, WI and Friday Night Fish Fry's. Her death leaves an ache in our heart, but we take solace knowing she is with Our Lord, and we have faith that she will be reunited with her husband, who she loved so dearly and missed.
She is survived by her four beloved children, Dana (Wenda) Camacho of Rochelle, IL, Darrell (Sue) Ritter of Laporte, TX, David Camacho Jr. of Madison, WI, and Cindy (Kathy Williams) Camacho of Rockford, IL; grandchildren, Adrian Camacho, Natalie Polson and Marlene (Douglas) Groves, Elizabeth Vasquez, Luke Camacho, Kristin Camacho, and Jeremy Neisewander; and several great-grandchildren., She is predeceased by her husband, David G. Camacho Sr. parents; special aunts, Loise Krueger and Anna Mae; uncle, Paul; pet cats, Tattoo and Norris; and her border collies, Katy and Bo. She absolutely loved her best friend "Bo". He was always at her side and loved her back unconditionally. A special thank you to OSF St. Anthony Hospice for their care.
