Obituary

Donna Mae Kellogg Anstett, 82, of Elgin, IL passed away February 4, 2017 surrounded by family and close friends at Presence St. Joseph Hospital. She was born on November 12, 1934 in Genoa, IL to Raymond G. and Jennie F. (Lawson) Kellogg. Donna attended Genoa High School and worked at General Electric, Falls Products and for many years at Elgin State Hospital. She married George Charles Anstett in 1961 in Hampshire, IL. He preceded her in death on March 8, 2016. She ran a daycare and cared for children in her home for many years. Donna loved to play cards and board games. She was an avid reader and she instilled this passion in her children and everyone she cared for. She was quite handy, and many neighborhood children brought their bikes and toys to her to fix over the years. She was a member of St. Laurence Church in Elgin, where she served on the Altar & Rosary Guild.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Kevin) Sensor of Elgin, IL; 2 sons, Charles (Jean Reid) Anstett of Seattle Washington and Joseph (Kim) Anstett of Blaine, WA; four grandchildren, Lanna Lee, Spencer and Megan Anstett, Raymond Mitchell; three sisters, Charlene Engelsen of Genoa, IL, Louise Carey of Nevada, and Sue (Bob) Rozycki of WI, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; infant granddaughter, Sophia Sensor; three sisters, Ethel McDowall, Beverly Milroy, Jacquin Beach and; three brothers, L.D. Frank Kellogg, Raymond James "Joe" Kellogg; and Ronald Blair Kellogg.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Cooper-Quiram Chapel, 202 E. Main Street, Genoa, IL. Visitation will be held on from 11 am to 2 pm on Sunday at the funeral home. Burial in Genoa Cemetery in Genoa, IL.     Charlie, Joey and Susie., so sorry for your loss of your Mom. She was a very special person. Always there for anyone who needed her. She was my neighbor for 15 years and we had many cups of coffee, laughs and fun times togetber. You should be very proud to have had her as your mom.
