Obituary

Larry P. (Pops) Roth, 84, of Rockford, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, in Rosewood Care Center. He was born November 1, 1932, in Wabasha, Minnesota, the son of Nick J. and Vera (Olson) Roth. He married Helen L. Briski October 16, 1957; she predeceased him April 6, 1995. Larry retired as a Staff Sgt. from the United States Air Force, serving in the Korean War. He loved to play bingo and loved his Bassett Hounds. A special thanks to the staff and nurses who cared for Larry at Rosewood.
He is survived by his sons, Mark J. Roth and Dwayne (Trudy) Roth; grandchildren, Jessica Sixberry, Brian Lundstrom, and Jeanette and Angel Roth; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Roth; and sisters, Yvonne McDonald, Jean Johnson, and Maryann Roth; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, in Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Ltd., North Main Chapel, 2811 N. Main, Rockford, with Rev. Dean Parker officiating. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Machesney Park, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Monday, January 2, 2017 at North Main Chapel.     I'm sorry to hear of your farthers passing. Memory: I remember when we watched TV in the living room he always had that bowl of popcorn in his lap. He did share.
