Dr. Craig Brown MD, 70, passed away on December 10, 2016. He was born on December 10, 1946, in Peoria, Illinois; the son of Harold and Mary (Burns) Brown. Craig was married to Dr. Patricia M. Panzica MD for over 32 years. He was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church.
He worked as a research chemist and MBA prior to attending medical school at the University Of Illinois College Of Medicine in Rockford. After completing his residency at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, he became board certified in Emergency Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Medicine. He has practiced as an ER Physician for over 25 years working at Rockford Memorial, Freeport and Proctor Hospital. He retired from medical practice December 2015. Craig loved and taught scuba diving. He also enjoyed skiing and teaching his children to ski. He was always ready to travel whether it was a safari in Africa, touring Europe, sailing /diving the Caribbean or traveling the highways in the US.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia M. Panzica MD; children, Amy Beiersdorff of Belvidere, Thaddeus (Gina) Kromelis of Tarrytown, NY, Robert Brown of Belvidere, and twin sons, Ryan and Steven Brown of Belvidere; grandchildren, Vaughn and Quinn Beiersdorff, Thaddeus and Henry Kromelis; brother, Bruce Brown of Peoria; sister, Barbara (Ken Zanca) Brown-St. John of LaQuinta, CA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 16, 2016, at Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, North Main Chapel, 2811 N. Main St. Rockford with Pastor Tony Dusso officiating. Memorial visitation will be on Thursday, December 15, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at North Main Chapel.
