Together Again
Vivian S. Struven, 94, of Rockford joined her loving husband, Ed on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, in Northwoods Care Center. She was born November 9, 1922, in Ljungby Smaland Sweden the daughter of Gustav and Ellen (Johnson) Tengren. Vivian married Edward Struven on May 12, 1944; he predeceased her January 6, 2015. Vivian was the longest member of the Salvation Army Temple; she was also a member of Air Squadron and Eastern Star. She loved to travel, and cherished time spent with family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Debbie (Larry) Zitzke and Donna (Steve) Sendele; grandchildren, Stina (Ken) Topolski, Stephanie (Gary) Gartman, Dina Sendele and Ed (Natalie) Sendele; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Nicole, Matthew, Daniel and Kimberly; brother, Rune (Jean) Tengren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters, Marie and Sonja. The family would like to give a special thank you to Northern Illinois Hospice, special loving friend, Anne Osterberg, and her many caring friends from Bingo.
Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2016, in Salvation Army Rockford Temple Corps, 500 S. Rockford Ave. with Lt. Col. Daniel Sjogren officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Salvation Army Rockford Temple Corps.

    To the family of Mrs. Struven I am so sorry for your loss. Her daughter Debbie and I spent many teenage hours together and I remember Friday night sleep overs at her home. Mrs. Struven was a beautiful woman both inside and out. Many wonderful memories.

She was a very lively and sweet lady! when an employee of Don Carter's found her ring she sent a letter to the newspaper saying how much she appreciated him finding and returning her rings! She is at peace now! My heart goes out to you and the girls and your family. May you find comfort in the arms of the Lord!! Again I am so sorry for your loss!
