Obituary

Jeffrey Hedberg, of Rockford, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2016 due to complications from Adrenal Cortical Carcinoma. Jeff was born January 12, 1970 in St. Paul, MN to Russell and Nancy. When he was a year old his family moved to Rockford. He also briefly lived in Eugene, OR and Stoughton, WI. Jeff's love of everything Mopar led into a 21 year career at Chrysler. He was fortunate to work several years as a millwright, following in his father's footsteps. Jeff was talented at restoring classic Mopars, including his 1970 Plymouth Cuda, which he enjoyed driving right up until weeks of his passing.
Jeff is survived by his mother; sister, Amy; and brother-in-law Dan Sheldon; son, Garrett; nieces and nephews, Sloan, Brody, Zhane, and Torie; his grandmother, Marjorie; his best friend, Jon Sjostrom; and his girlfriend, DeAnn Porter. He was preceded by his father, maternal grandfather, and paternal grandparents.
Adrenal cancer is one in a million ultra rare cancer. Jeff did his best with every treatment, surgery and protocol. We would like to thank Jeff's cancer team: Dr. Shipp (Rockford), Dr. Hammer (Michigan), Dr. Hughes (NIH), Dr. Bible (Mayo-Rochester), and nurses Crystal (Mayo) and Cindy, Becky, Jennie, Christian, & Jon (Rockford), and all the nurses, admins, and volunteers at Northern Illinois Hospice.
Along with the never ending support of our friends, Roger & Julie, Erika & Mike, Cristin, Ryan, Maddy, and the two people who constantly went above and beyond for us, Samantha and Shawn. Without you two, we would have been lost. Thank you.
Memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 1:00 pm in Klehm Arboretum, 2715 S. Main St., Rockford, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to noahsarkanimals.org, and Adrenal Cancer Cure, acccure.org. Arrangements by Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, LTD.

After seeing Jeff's obit. I kept wondering if he is the cute, blond boy I had at Froberg summer school when he was about five years old. Sorry for your loss. Good memories, Carolyn Cryer
