Obituary

Thomas S. "Tom" Metzler, 57, of Rockford passed away Sunday, November 20, 2016. Born January 7, 1959, in Rockford; the son of Stanley H. and Jean (Driscoll) Metzler Jr. He was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Tom enjoyed fishing, playing football at Boylan High School, and loved animals.
Tom is survived by his siblings, Stan Metzler, Lisa Metzler, Jeanine (Bill) Eyster, John Metzler, and Joe (Katsue) Metzler all of Rockford; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by his parents; and brother, James Metzler.
Memorial Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, in St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2400 Bell Ave. Rockford, IL. Memorials to the family to be established in Tom's name.

    Peace to Tom and his friends and family. Tom was a good person and talented athlete. We were teammates and schoolmates for four years. Hundreds of practices and games. Everyone on the team thought well of Tommy Metzler.
