Jim Larson, 86, of Rockford, passed away on January 31, 2019. He was born on December 3, 1932 in Eagle, Wisconsin, the son of James and Elinor (Perry) Larson. James graduated from Whitewater City High School. He married Paulinne M. Paulick on August 31, 1957 in Rockford. James worked at Amerock Corp. for 39 years as a Quality Assurance Technician. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, serving on the church council, chairman of building and grounds committee, an usher and greeter. He was also a performing member of the "Hee Haw" group for 10 years as Junior Samples and announcer, and an avid member of the Democratic Party.
Survived by his wife, Paulinne; daughters, Leslie (Kevin) Pearson, and Rebecca (Brett) Armbruster; grandchildren, Alyssa, Aaron, Amanda (Chance), Ian, Jeremiah, Brittany (Ben) and Ben (Laurie); sisters, Joanne Bruch and Jeanne Patrick; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 in Zion Lutheran Church, 925 5th Ave., Rockford with Rev. Dr. Michael Thomas officiating. Visitation and refreshments will be from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service in the church. Private entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children, 2211 N. Oak Park Ave., Chicago, IL 60707.

    Best Mayor of the Brownwood neighborhood ever. Through the years I loved watching him out the window with his grandchildren. Always thinking how lucky he was and especially his grandchildren. In 2009 Jim surprised my first grandchild with a visit from Santa and gave him an orange. I miss him already, but we will always have a part of him because of his beloved family.     We are very sad to hear about Jim. We have been friends with Jim & Paulinne for many years and will miss his friendship and smiling personality. Harold worked with JIm on church council; they did many projects at church and at their homes. We have had many happy times spent with Jim and Paulinne. We will miss Jim very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with Paulinne and the entire family.
