Obituary

Angela Kay (Garcia) Moore, 49, of Kirkland, Illinois, surrounded by family, on Monday, December 10, 2018, at Kishwaukee Hospital, went to be with her Lord.
Born December 29, 1968, in Woodstock, to Fortunato and Sharon (Magee) Garcia, Angela attended high school in Donna, Texas, and studied cosmetology before moving to Illinois.
She married James Moore II in Kingston on July 30, 1994. She was the proud mother of two sons, James and Jonathon. For the last decade and a half, she was a key staff member of the Hiawatha School District of Kirkland. As Director of Food Services, she met every child in every grade, every year, and they adored her as much as she loved them. She was always uplifting, nurturing and encouraging.
Angie was a friend to all. She made time to listen, support, and, above all, she did not judge. She inspired many people with her strength. She was vibrant, witty, charming and had an unmatched sense of humor. No one will be able to find a more outgoing personality. She will be deeply missed.
Angela was nominated for and received the regional 2017 "Excellence in Education" Award, and the peer-nominated "Those Who Inspire" Award in 2016. She was president of Hiawatha's Booster Club, and a big part of the Football family and was in charge of many sports dinners. She gave freely of her time, helping with many benefits in Kirkland, even being the DJ and chaperone for school dances.
In her spare time, she loved to crochet.
Angela is survived by her husband, James; son, Jonathon; mother, Sharon Garcia; sisters, Tina (Bob) Szpekowski, Teresa (Anthony) Fitzgerald, Amanda (Dan) Fisher and Alice Garcia; nephews, Danny, Cooper, Dominic, Nate, Bryan, Brandon and Colton; nieces, Presley, Toni, Kennedy, Kendell, Eve, Savannah, Ariale and Della; mother-in-law, Janet Moore; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Angela was preceded in death by her son, James Moore III; sister, Debbie; father, Fortunato Garcia; father-in-law, James Moore; grandparents, Clarence and Marie Magee; and grandparents-in-law, Frank and Marie Kouba.
Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Hiawatha High School. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, December 16, 2018, at the school, with the Rev. Jeremy Heilman officiating. Burial will follow at Kingston Township Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to the family.
Arrangements are by Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Quiram Kirkland Chapel, 309 South Fifth St., Kirkland, Ill.; 815-522-3563.
