John Sellers, 75, of Sycamore passed away at his home on November 2, 2018. The son of Lester and Kate (Heuser) Sellers, he was born on January 19, 1943 in Chicago. On December 18, 1971, he married Patty Shepherd in DeKalb. Together they raised two children, Barbara and Shawn.
For many years, John worked as a supervisor at Alloyd in DeKalb as well as serving as a deputy for the McHenry County Sheriff's Office. Prior to this, John served our country in the US Army.
John was loved and will be missed by his wife of forty seven years, Patty; children, Barbara Leslie (Michael) Coon of Sycamore and Shawn Patrick (Keegan) Sellers of DeKalb; grandchildren, Amanda Jo (Brandon) Sellers, Savannah Sellers, Johnathon Vaisvilas, Timothy Vaisvilas, Peter Rafferty, and Krista Rafferty; and great grandchildren, Caidin, Lucas, and Alaina.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Lester and Kate; and daughter, Kathy.
A private family Celebration of John's life will be held at a later date.
