Obituary

Donna Blanco, 71, of DeKalb, Illinois, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018, in her home, surrounded by her family. She was born January 15, 1947, in DeKalb, Illinois, the daughter of Arthur William and Katherine (King) Lawrence.
A loving mother, sister, and caregiver. Donna was employed by DeKalb County Nursing Home where she worked as a C.N.A. for 25 years. She was a member of Sycamore United Methodist Church. Donna married Antonio Blanco on June 26, 1971, in Geneva; he died in 1993.
Caring for her family and friends was Donna's passion and delight. Donna was often the bridge that connected many people. She became the second mother to many people that welcomed her into their lives. Donna was a dedicated sports fan and watched many basketball and baseball games.
Donna is survived by her daughters, Melissa and Cathi Blanco, and sons, Tony and Jonathan Blanco, all of DeKalb; grandchildren, Savannah, Anthony and Elaina; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Alice Perez of DeKalb and Sandra Lawrence of Sycamore; and nephews, Brett and Craig Campuzano, and niece, Rossi Aves, who were by her side throughout her illness.
She was predeceased by her husband; parents, Arthur and Katherine Lawrence; sisters, Linda Kay Aves and Rita Campuzano; and brother, Clark Lawrence.
Visitation on Saturday, October 20, 2018 will be from 10-11 a.m., until the memorial service at Sycamore United Methodist Church, 160 Johnson Avenue, Sycamore.
Memorials can be made to the family for a fund to be decided at a later date.
