Obituary

Arthur E. "Bo" Race, 60, of Rockford, passed away on September 26, 2018. He was born on September 16, 1958 in Rockford, the son of Earl E. and Erma (Deemer) Race. Bo graduated from Jefferson High School. He married Joann Stonecipher on May 31, 1997 in Rockford. Bo's career expanded from paperboy to traveling the country with carnivals, running game booths, to manufacturing precision gears and retiring from the Caldwell Group as a CNC technician. Bo loved his Sunday morning drives to various forest preserves with his dogs. He enjoyed old country music, a good Bloody Mary, nature, gardening, and Trap Shooting, and of course, the Packers and Cubs.
He is survived by his wife, Joann; sons, David (Cheryl) and Charles (Angie) Conley; daughters, Amanda (Mike) Lindsay, and Sarah (Ryan) Farrell; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Anna (James) Dickison, Peggy (James) Kellems, and Patsy (Brian) Johnson. Predeceased by parents; sister, Rita Bohren and brother, Charles Race.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 29, 2018 in Olson North Main Chapel, 2811 N. Main St., Rockford. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:00 am to 10:45 am. Burial in Willwood Burial Park.
