John A. Beaman, 88, of Rockford, passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2018 in his home. Born on May 18, 1930, in Supply, Arkansas, the son of Jesse and Oma (Sorrels) Beaman. John was the owner of Beaman Well Drilling. He married Helen M. Larson on April 24, 1952. She predeceased him on May 18, 2013. Survived by his son, Jerry Beaman; grandsons, Cochise (Kim) Beaman of Rockford, Jeremy Beaman of Greeley, CO, and Johnny Beaman of Rockford; and great-grandchild, Soleil; and siblings, Mary Diaz, Jesse Beaman, and Bill Beaman. Also predeceased by his parents; and siblings, Dean Beaman, Ila Purkapile, Rose Beaman, and Georgia Crosser. A special thanks to everyone who helped out including Margaret Waggoner, Barb Enloe, Denise Brown, Virginia O' Day and Swedish American Hospital Staff.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 4620 20th St, Rockford with Pastor Wendy Popp officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service in the church. Burial in New Milford Cemetery.

    I used to build homes from the mid-80s to the mid-90s. John drilled all of the wells for the homes outside the city limits, including my own home in Cherry Valley. John was old school. An honest and hard worker who made sure the job was done right. He knew his work better than anyone around. He was a good man. My condolences to his family for their loss.
