Ruth M. Boesiger Cullen, 93, entered her heavenly home on August 6, 2018. Born in Monroe, WI on September 23, 1924, to Fred and Martha Boesiger. Ruth graduated from Monroe High School with honors in 1943. She moved to Rockford, IL where she attended the Rockford School of Business and met the love of her life, Benjamin Clare Cullen. They were married on September 6, 1947 in Monroe, WI. Ben predeceased her in 1978. Ruth was a loving and devoted wife and mother, as well as dedicated to supporting her community using her many talents. In her early years, she was a member of the Loves Park Women's Club, Harlem High School Boosters and raised funds for River Bluff Nursing Home. After reentering the workforce with Management Associates and opening her own business, Cullen Retail Services. Ruth became an active member of Kiwanis, the American Lung Association and Wesley Willows Board of Directors serving as chair of the Ethics Committee.
Ruth is survived by her two daughters, Peggy Humpal of Denver, CO and Sylvia (Peter) Kacheris of Hartland, WI; and five grandchildren: Kate (Ben) Kelly and Matthew Humpal (of Peggy), Ben (Karen) Kacheris, Jeff Kacheris (Lindsey Magritz), Leanne (Bill) Zoesch, and seventeen great grandchildren: Allison, Jake, Meghan Kelly (Kate), Matthew, Jonathan, Abigail, Michael, Thomas, Joseph, Peter, George, and James Kacheris (Benjamin): Zoie and Isabelle Kacheris (Jeff) and Makayla, William and Nickolas Zoesch (Leanne). She is also preceded in death by her parents. The family would like to thank all of the staff at Hartland Terrace Assisted Living for their kind and gentle care of their mother over the last few years.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2018 in Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2821 N. Bell School, Rockford. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Olson North Main Chapel, 2811 N. Main St, Rockford and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. prior to the service in the church. Burial in Sunset Memorial Park, Machesney Park, IL. Memorials may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church or Hartland Terrace, 327 North Ave., Hartland, WI 53029. Arrangements by Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Ltd.
