Print Obituary & Condolences

John or as most people knew him Joe, was a great man, friend, father, and grandfather. If you knew Joe you know that he loved to be on the move, loved working on cars, riding his motorcycle, play music, mostly on his guitar or keyboard, spending time outside and tinkering with things in his garage. He was predeceased by his father Bob Louis, mother Mary Lou, Brother Marc Louis, brother Robert "Bobby" Louis and grandson Elijah Louis. He left behind six wonderful children: Jerry (Megan) Grosstick, Kris (Angela) Louis, Bobby (Allie) Louis, Sarah Louis, Peri Louis (12), and Paige Louis (11). He also left behind eight beautiful grandchildren: Lydia Louis (16), Karma Louis (12), Jayk Louis (9), Ryker Louis (6), Haddie Louis (1), Lilly Louis (8), Kaleb Grosstick (13) and Joshua Grosstick (11). He also left behind a sister Julie, and many, many friends. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten. "Where ever you go, there you are."

Please join his family and friends for a celebration of life on June 23, 2018 at Loves Park VFW, 2018 Windsor Road, Loves Park Illinois 61111 from 2pm - 5pm. There will be laughs and tears but that's ok because Joe would want all of his friends and family to celebrate his life!

I am so very sorry that the Louis family has suffered yet another loss. My heart goes out to each of you left behind. 'Papa Joe' was such an incredible person. His love, compassion & encouragement was extended to so many that knew him. The World will definitely be a little darker without him. Thank you for all that you'very done for us here, Joe. Rest In Paradise, my friend.

Ive known you well over all my life. We suffered the same losses, the normal and the tragic. They were never easy my friend. Some people just have a light, often they dont see it themselves but others do. They know it still burns white. I wish we would have had more long talks to my friend. I missed them as well. You and I were always friends no matter if we hadnt bumped into eachother since h.s. Time didnt matter, thats how you know you had a true friend. You were that , are that. Your gonna be missed by a lot of people my brother, very much so. In this world you count your blessings if you meet someone who made a differance in your life, you did that for a lot of people. I think the thing we both understood well is “ We are only human, mere flesh and blood”. Thats all any of us are. Say hi to your pop, tell Bobby I miss him too, ask him if he still plays in The Bay City Rollers ;) ( god i used to tease him with that lol). I miss you guys. We all do. Love ya.

Joe was a wonderful man, hard worker, but most of all, a man who loved his family. When he talked about any of his family it was with love and pride. He had a strong faith and I know he is just on the other side with those who preceded him but watching over those who remain. Rest in peace, Joe, in the loving arms of God.
