Obituary

Gary J. Hribal, 62, of Rockford passed away at his home, May 23, 2018. Gary was born to Richard H. Hribal and Jennie (Hribal) Johnson on March 13, 1956 in Rockford, IL. He spent most of his life in the Rockford area. He served in the Army at Fort Carson Colorado from 1974-1976. Gary owned and operated G&H Painting for 38 years. He always said he loved being a painter. Gary liked music, especially Elvis and was an avid Chicago Bears fan that followed Walter Payton's career. Gary married Elizabeth Richards and had three children together. Years later he married Deb Hilger and they enjoyed a great life together. Gary's interests included travel, reading and playing pool. Gary and Deb liked to hike, sightsee and just being outdoors.
Gary leaves behind his three children, Becky (Don) Schmoll, Lisa (Don) Howe and Gary R. Hribal and three granddaughters, Joscelyn, Haylie, and Katelyn. He also leaves behind very special friend Deb Hilger and her family. Gary is survived by his mother, Jennie (Hribal) Johnson, three sisters, Deborah (Ken) Gardiner, Beth (Jeff) Benson, Cindy Rathke and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his first wife Elizabeth, his father, Richard H. Hribal and brothers Richard L. and James E. Hribal and his grandparents, may they all rest in peace.
Memorial service will be at 4:00 pm Tuesday, May 29, 2018 in Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Ltd., Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 2nd Ave with Rev. John Brennan officiating. Memorial visitation will be at 3:00 pm prior to the service in the chapel. Memorials to the family.
