  1. Shirley Werner

My sympathy to you Don, John, Tom and families. It was a very sad day when John so kindly called me to notify of Grace's passing. I was one of Grace's high school friends still living. When your Mom and Dad wed , the couples became friends, a very joyous relationship. I will miss your Mom as we had such similar backgrounds and so many things to talk about when we got together whether in person or on the phone. Just remember both of your parents are now well and such a blessing they were not apart for a long length of time. She was always such a positive person and her Christian faith was always so evident.

  2. Marjory Barksdale

As I already expressed my condolences to Don and his brothers via letter, I wish to state my deepest sympathy to Grace's sister, Mary Ann Walther,. of Warrenton, Virginia. My friendship with both sisters dates back 74 years when we all grew up in a Chicago neighborhood just four houses apart. Just weeks ago, Grace commented on how very fortunate she was to have her sons and their families assist in moving she and Don into their new retirement home and that her niece Katie flew out from the East coast to help for a few days organizing the many details in making her new place "home". Our "sunshine girl" is gone, but we shall always cherish the many happy memories.

Sincere sympathy to Don, Jr, John and Tom and their families. The loss of both parents in such a short time is a blessing for Grace and Don, as they are together again, but a great loss tor your families. They were so proud of all of you! We were friends since high school days and I will greatly miss them.
