Obituary

Ruth A. Jones, 80, of Rockford, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018. Born on September 3, 1937 in Henderson, Tennessee, the daughter of Carl and Bertha (Hand) Uselton. Ruth married Johnny R. Jones on March 21, 1958 in Rockford. He predeceased her on June 9, 2008. She worked at National Lock Company for 36 years and Winnebago County Housing Authority for 13 years.
Survived by her children, Rhonda, Jeff, and Debbie; grandchildren, Betty (Darrin), John (Constance), Abe (Raquel), Mikayla, Chrissy (LaShawn), April (Bob), Donny (Misty), Antonio (Tina), and Austin; 18 great-grandchildren 5 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Darrell (June) Uselton; and sisters, Shirley A. (Scotty) Scott, and Patricia (Barry) Mayo. Also predeceased by her parents; daughter, Karen; son, Doug; and two brothers, Carl E. and Charles Uselton.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave., Rockford. Visitation will be from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. prior to the service in the chapel. Burial at Scandinavian Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.

    We had such great times together. When I was a newly wed she helped me so much. I Love this entire family. We lived on the same street and I kept her kids and we saw each other daily. This is not the end, and we will see her again.

    I remeber so many times this lady was kinder to me more so then my own kin..she always welcomed people with open arms..never let anyone leave her home sad and always made sure you knew you were loved even if you weren't her blood..she loved her family and life..its truly a sad day to say my final goodbyes..but i am over joyed knowing she is now at reat with her loved ones in heaven and in no more pain...may you rest in peace sweetheart love you ans if you get timw while up in paradise send some signs your with us from time to time...i am sure april would love that as would kendal
