Naomi J. Capone, of Rockford, passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at River Bluff Nursing Home. Born on February 12, 1930, in Freeport, IL, the daughter of Leo and Thelma (Keith) Wilson. She attended Rockford Business College and worked many years in the retail sector. Naomi married James A. Capone on September 24, 1954 at St. Mary's Church in Freeport. He predeceased her January 26, 1963. She was a member of St. Peter Cathedral in Rockford where she was involved in CCD, taught Sunday school, ran book ministry at Charismatic Prayer Group.
Survived by her children, Marilyn Capone of Rockford, IL, John (Kathy) Capone of Naperville, IL, and Phyllis (Craig) Knipprath of Roscoe, IL; four grandchildren, Kristin (Michael) Genslinger, Joseph (Morgan) Capone, Emily Capone, James (Danielle) Capone; twin great-grandchildren, Kora and Camden; and soon to be born great-granddaughter, Ariella Rose; and ten brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Life Church, 4312 20th St., Rockford, IL with Pastor Sarah Schultz officiating. Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Olson North Main Chapel, 2811 N. Main St., Rockford, IL on Friday, March 23, 2018. Memorials can be made to River Bluff Nursing Home , 4401 N.
