Douglas Lee Sundeen, 70, of Rockford, passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018 in his home. Born on April 23, 1947, in Rockford, the son of Howard and Elaine (Axberg) Sundeen. He married Christine Majewski on August 20, 1983 in Springfield. Doug worked as a partner with Howard Sundeen & Son's for 25 years. He was a member of Sheet Metal Union 219, a lifetime car racing enthusiast and a jack of all trades.
Survived by his wife, Chris; children, Stephanie (Kevin) Sundeen Saberre and Andrew Sundeen; grandson, Trey; mother, Elaine; siblings, Diana Sundeen, Robin (Teresa) Sundeen, and Joyce (Keith) Schuenke; nieces, Nichole, Catherine, and Taylor; nephews, Brandon, Kevin, Aaron, and Scott; and his cat and best friend, Mike. Predeceased by his father, Howard.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave., Rockford. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service in the chapel.
