Obituary

Grant W. Fisher, 65, of Rockford, died at 9:30 pm Friday, 8/25 at home. Born June 28, 1952 in Rockford, IL the son of Roger & Marilyn (Person) Fisher. He graduated from Auburn High School and served in the U.S. Army, including a tour in Vietnam. He married Cindy Carson June 29, 1974 in Rockford. Grant owned and operated Fisher's Office Equipment and managed numerous convenience stores. He was an avid softball player and die-hard Cubs fan.
Grant is survived by his wife, Cindy; daughter, Becky (Dan) Taylor; son, Grant (Antoinette) Fisher II; grandchildren, Jacob, Isabella, Audrey, Alexandra & Natalie; sisters, Linda (Bob) Nacvich, Carol (Buzz) Cook and Betty (Tom) Martin; brothers-in-law, Ralph (Cheryl) Carson & Bob (Dorlah) Carson; numerous nieces and nephews; and "brothers", Mike Adams & Bruce "CB" Slojkowski. Predeceased by parents; sister, Alice Wilkins. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mercy Health at Home Hospice.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2017, at Olson Funeral Services, Ltd., Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001, 2nd Ave., Rockford. Visitation will be Wednesday 8/30 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Fred C. Olson Chapel and again Thursday from 10 to 10:45 am in the chapel. Burial in White Rock Cemetery, Kings, IL. Memorials may be made to Mercy Health at Home Hospice, 4223 E. State St., Rockford, IL 61108; Vietnam Veterans Honor Society, P.O. Box 4304, Rockford, IL 61110; Roy Gayle Baseball Program, 903 S.     Grant was a gamer and a true Cub fan. He was a super slow pitch player and always competed. We grew up 2 blocks away and I had my 1st job with him in 1964 as a street treat guy pedaling ice cream. I will him and sorry I missed him
