Obituary

Eldon L. Eash , 63, of Machesney Park, passed away July 29, 2017. He was born February 10, 1954 in Sturgis, MI, the son of Floyd and Jean (Eicher) Eash. Eldon married the love of his life, Roberta Marsden, on August 21, 1976 in Loves Park. They enjoyed many wonderful years of marriage, and his 'boo' was always his priority and never far from his mind. He loved to talk about his children and was a proud 'Opa' to his grandchildren. Eldon had a brilliant mind and was very creative in writing computer programs, composing music and could fix just about anything. He loved corvettes and always dreamed of owning one again someday. Eldon could often be seen with a camera in his hands capturing family moments. His faith was a huge part of his life and he was a scholar of the Word. He leaves behind a strong legacy of faith and love that will live on in his children.
He is survived by his wife; children: Peter, Benjamin, Kendra (Jason) Robinson, Kathlynn (Ray) Gade, Brandon (Ashley), Katrina (Ted) Peterson; grandchildren; Trevor, Hailey, Jesse, Charlotte, Layla, June, and Taylor; siblings: Stan (Brenda), Margaret (Gary) Hall, Jonathan (Marla), Mary (Tim) Winkelman, and David (Jodi); and many nieces and nephews. Eldon is predeceased by his parents.
Memorial Service will be held on August 4, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Heartland Community Church, 1280 S. Alpine Rd., Rockford. Private family burial. Memorials may be made to the family.

Eldon left a great legacy through his family and for me, his music. He wrote many songs and put many Psalms to music. Even now after 30 years they are often in my mind and voice. Many great memories of Eldon, his wit and his guitar playing. God bless Roberta and the whole family now with his Great Peace. When I heard Eldon was sick I made plans to visit him. But by the next morning he had already departed. I am disappointed about that, but he is not disappointed. He is in Glory now waiting for us. It may be closer than you think. Give diligence now with your life before God so that you may join him.

It's been years since our paths have crossed. Literally decades I guess but I am so grateful for the amazing witness of Eldon of who he was as a father guided by our Heavenly Father and the beautiful family you have all been and become. ❤ This is a treasure for not just your family but a witness to all of God's goodness and divine purposes. Thank you for sharing your memories and pain. I understand minute by minute. I will keep you all in my prayers.

I have known and respected Eldon for over 30 years. He was instrumental in developing and maintaining our custom software. His attention to detail and follow through were very impressive, and his faith was even more so. Eldon, my Friend, you will be solely missed.

No matter how much you think you are prepared for something like this...you never are. I never had the opportunity to meet this man but from what I remember of "Bert" he had to have been an incredible man. I am asking for God's comforting hand to be upon you in this difficult time & just know it isn't goodbye...it's just "see you again in a little while.
