Robert Carl Vince, 78, of Rockford, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017 in Rosewood Care Center. He was born June 17, 1938, in New Orleans, LA, the son of Nick and Martha (Brandquist) Vince. Bob served in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany. He owned his own barbershop and he also worked at the Belvidere Toll booth. Going to auctions was a passion he and his mother shared. Bob loved being near the ocean and enjoyed taking his family on vacations. He was a landlord of several properties and had a special relationship with many of his tenants.
He is survived by his daughter, Teresa (Matthew) Walling; and grandchildren, Evan and Mitchell; and Teresa's mother, Paula Bliss. Predeceased by his parents. The family would like to thank Rosewood Care Center for all the love and care they showed Robert.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, in Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Ltd., Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave. Rockford with Rev. Jonathon Banister officiating. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service in the chapel. Memorials to Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary, 111 N. 1st. St. Rockford, IL 61107.

    It was distressing to learn of Bob's illness and then of his passing. He will be missed by his friends. I spent a lot of time with Bob at auctions. We set up together at the Sandwich Antique Show for several years. My best regards to his family.
