David was a true Renaissance Man. He was a master of many trades, he could build or fix anything and do it beautifully. He was "Uncle Dave," to my son, and also to my dogs, who adored him. He was patient and kind and loved animals. He was also generous with his time and skills, volunteering for good works. Every time we lose a good person, the whole world changes....my world is more sad, with his leaving. Much love to my dear friend, Lorna, and my condolences to those who were lucky enough to share some of their lives with this remarkable human being, who will be genuinely missed.

  15. John Furland

Dave was a life long friend to the Furlands. Bass player for The Daze of The Weak with his brother Gary, my brother Jim, Ron Anderson, Ralph Webster and John A. Peterson. He helped my band Probe as tech for a good while, then 22 years touring with Cheap Trick. Dave came down to see us in Tennessee for a week around 1976, we had an excellent visit, and being the helpful soul he was, installed a new U joint on my Travelall. Always there for friends and strangers alike, Dave was one of best men I've ever known. Rock on in The Heavenly Band with our Brothers Dave.

My heartfelt condolences to Lorna and the Wilmer's. David was a great guy and a good neighbor. I can still distinctly remember his soft spoken words and his calm demeanor. His kindness had imbedded an indelible mark in my heart.

I am deeply saddened to hear about the loss of Dave. We first met many years ago at a teen club in Beloit when I was with the One-Eyed-Jacks. Then over the years we did many shows together when I was with REO and he was the Cheap Trick guy. I remember (before the 5 neck) Dave used to hang all the guitars on Rick, and he was the original side stage keyboard player. I always had the utmost respect for Dave. Besides being a great guy he was a true professional and a legend in the business. My heart felt condolences go out to his family. Gone to soon. Everyone will miss him.
