Sandra K. Gillenwater, 70, of Cherry Valley, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018 at OSF St. Anthony Hospital. Born on October 9, 1947, in Rockford, the daughter of Harold and Adeline (Schmutzler) Hanrahan. She married Kenneth E. Gillenwater on November 21, 1992, in Cherry Valley.
Survived by her husband, Kenneth; daughters, Renee (Kevin) Russell of Rockford and Leslie (Jay) Triplett of Chandler, AZ; four grandchildren, Josh and Ashley Russell, and Taylor and Haylee Triplett; two great-grandchildren, Colin and Mason Russell; brother, Kenneth (Arditta) Green; sister, Vickie (Jack) Doner; sister-in-law, Barbara Hanrahan; many nieces and nephews; and special friend of 58 years, Pat Reimer. Predeceased by her parents; and several other siblings.
Memorial Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 in Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave., Rockford. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
