Illene A. Burkart, 70, of Sycamore, died on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Kishwaukee Hospital.
She was born on July 10, 1947, in Mendota, to Arthur and Edith (Leisure) Hawbaker. On June 14, 1986, she married Thomas Burkart in Sycamore. Illene was an accountant at NIU. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, traveling, cats and especially her family and grandchildren. She was a member of the Sycamore Elks Club.
Survived by her husband, Thomas; son, Jon (Robin) Hash; grandchildren, Codi, Madyson and Cora Hash; and brother, Marvin (Arlene) Hawbaker of Kirkland.
Predeceased by her parents; aunt, Ada Simpson and several cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 9, 2018 at Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Quiram Sycamore Chapel, 1245 Somonauk St., Sycamore, IL with Pastor Dan Swinson officiating. There will be a visitation from 1:00pm until the time of the service at the funeral home.
