Dolores Nancy Cook, "Dodie", age 80, a childhood resident of Sycamore, died Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at her home in The Villages, Fla. She was born the daughter of Rose and Ambrose Gray, November 16, 1937. She grew up in Sycamore with 8 other siblings.
She married Gail Robert Cook on April 25, 1958 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sycamore and lived most her life in DeKalb, Il. Dolores worked as a medical secretary for the DeKalb Clinic for many years. She was an avid golfer and bowler. She enjoyed traveling with her husband throughout the country to various golf destinations and chose The Villages FL as their favorite area where they bought a beautiful home for retirement. They were very active with friends and neighbors in Florida for 20 years along with several fun visits from their children and grandchildren.

Survivors include; 4 children, Kim Luxem (Cook) of Florida, Sue Witte (Cook) of Bartlett,IL. Kenneth Cook of Bellevue,IL. Robert Cook of Olympia, WA; 8 grandchildren; Ryan, Jordan, Kori, Alec, Wade, Hannah, Chantel, Steve.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gail Robert Cook; parents Rose and Ambrose Gray, brother John, and sister Rose.

Visitation will be held at the Olson Funeral Home, Quiram Chapel in Sycamore, IL on Saturday, March 24 at 10:30 am to 11:30 am with Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at St. Mary's church in Sycamore, IL. at 12 noon. A luncheon will be held at Regale Center in Sycamore after the service followed by burial in Mt. Carmel cemetery at 3pm.
